The two great bipartisan economic reforms of the last three decades were the 1986 tax reform, which slashed marginal income tax rates while greatly broadening the tax base; and Bill Clinton's welfare reform in 1996.
Our current president is doing all he can to eliminate both of these economic and social successes. His tax plans are to raise tax rates and reduce the tax base by expanding deductions to benefit green industries and union-heavy manufacturers.
